Summer Jam was Poppin Despite All The Craziness!!!
This was my first summer jam ever, but the festival show was cancelled due to rain. The show was pushed back to start at like 9pm. It took additional time to get in due to a huge mixup about where I had to go to get bracelets and all of that. There was a huge amount of security and state police present, which was kinda scary, especially when a big fight happened right behind me and really blew the vibe. On top of it all, there was no young thug and no future, which was a big disappointment.
Despite all that, this is still the best concert I've been to. G.O.O.D. Music's Performance was legendary! Kanye, 2 Chainz, and other surprise guests like Designer, Big Sean, Pusha T, and Travis Scott showed up. The lighting and production value were enough to make an old person have a stroke. The set listing was perfection, with Pusha even taking it back with "Grinding" and Yeezus hitting us with a bang of songs from Pablo. Bryson Tiller delivered a solid performance and brought out Fabolous. The Terror Squad reunion was nostalgic, with some throwbacks I had forgotten about and even Ashanti making an appearance. Remy looked good too, but she's a married woman so I'll leave it at that. "All the Way Up" was lit, and they brought out Joe to sing "I Don't Wanna Be a Player." Unfortunately, after the fight melee, the lights had to be turned on, which messed up the vibe. A$AP Mob and DJ Khaled had to perform with the lights on, but their sets would have been lit otherwise. The concert was cut short in the middle of DJ Khaled's set, just as anticipation for Future was at its height. MAJOR PUMP FAKE!!! Still, I feel like I got my money's worth just on the experience alone, even though we missed out on a lot of acts like Chance the Rapper, Curren$y, Dave East, Post Malone, Young Thug, and Karlous Miller. Next year, I plan on going again, hoping for no rain or fights, and definitely getting seats in the front section.
